Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Version 1.0

Please note: This policy has been prepared in good faith and is pending formal legal review before launch.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of the Terms & Conditions and applies to everyone who uses SectorBoard. We may update it from time to time.

1. You must not

  • access, or attempt to access, any data, Account or Organisation that is not yours;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • scrape, harvest or export data at scale for resale or for building a competing product;
  • circumvent, disable or interfere with security, authentication, rate-limiting or usage features;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security, without our prior written permission (see section 4);
  • use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, defamatory or malicious content, or malware;
  • impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Service or its infrastructure;
  • use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law (including data-protection law); or
  • misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for an Organisation.

2. API and automated use

API access is subject to rate limits and fair use. Automated access must use your own credentials, respect rate limits, and must not be used to circumvent plan allowances or to extract bulk data for resale.

3. Connected Applications

You must only connect applications you are authorised to access, and only grant the read-only access the Service requests. You are responsible for the credentials and permissions you provide.

4. Security research

If you wish to test the security of the Service, contact [email protected]first. We welcome good-faith vulnerability reports and aim to respond within 48 hours. Do not access other customers’ data, degrade the Service, or publicly disclose an issue before we have had a reasonable opportunity to remediate it.

5. Enforcement

Breaching this AUP may lead to suspension or termination of access under section 16 of the Terms, and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement. We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service, our customers or third parties.

6. Reporting

Report suspected misuse to [email protected] or, for security issues, [email protected].
